Last day in MAS...

Today is my last day working in MAS. To think of it, I quite like the place and didn't want to quit man... Made quite a no of frens over there esp the newer temps. Really quite sad to leave...But who knows...maybe I'll be back. Haha..

Anyway, on the last day, the perm staff had decided to give the 3 leaving temps a treat over at MY cafe.

BUT...fully occupied.
So we went to the zi char next to it to settle our lunch.
Took some pictures with the legendary figure, JIMMY TAN. And also some grp pics..haha.. see how mean they were...

Finally...a gd pic and yet not so gd pic...

This grp of people really can make our day man.. They are really full of surprises and ideas man.. They gave each of us a special gift. Jimmy wanted to be more handsome and wanted to make his hair look nicer, so they got him a Gatsby wax...

As for me, they got me 2 SG Pools betting slips, betting on Liverpool to win the Champs League and EPL.. So lame man....knowing I'm liverpool supporter, so they came up with this idea, given that they are Man Utd and Arsenal supporters. :)

This explains the stupid expression Eddy gave..
For Glenda, not too sure what they've gotten her, so ya...another gift related to her. Hee.

The act cute Daryl and Eddy's trademark close eye shot...

Just wanna say...
Thank you for everything, all the fun and laughters you all had brought to me, will definitely miss you all. Shall meet up for some chillout sessions... :)

There are more to come but pics not with me yet...pics with my assistant directors..

Leave your packets of tissue on hawker centre tables at your own risk

TIME and again, it is reported in newspapers and online that foreigners — unfamiliar with the Singaporean practice of using packets of tissue paper to “chope” (reserve) seats — are made to give up theirs seats at hawker centres and foodcourts when the “rightful” owners of the tissue packets return.

Tourists, expatriates and foreign workers who arrive in Singapore expect to see a courteous citizenry, corresponding to its modern infrastructure and efficiency.

However, the demeanour of indignant patrons, who return to find “their” seats taken by foreigners unfamiliar with the ubiquitous practice, puts our perpetual courtesy campaign to shame. More often than not, these people demand that the foreigners leave the table right away, even if they are halfway through their meals.

Unfortunately, this sort of behaviour leaves more than just a bitter taste for those hapless “offenders”; they will have the impression that Singaporeans do not know what true social etiquette is.

I dare these perpetrators to try the same tactic in food establishments in any other country, and then see how the locals will ridicule them for being obnoxious and impertinent.

For proponents out there, please do not deem this as another Singaporean trait that needs to be preserved for its uniqueness. This is different from the argument that colloquial “Singlish” defines our way of communication and that the Queen’s English is for the British.

“Chope-ing” seats is as disgusting a trait as spitting indiscriminately. Some social percepts are universal, but “chope-ing” is not one of them.

The rules should be thus: The first patron to sit down gets the table. If that person stands and leaves, then the next patron waiting gets the table. No reservations with tissues, umbrellas or whatever — leave them there at your own risk.

My solution, though drastic, is simple. From now on, I resolve to remove and discard all packets of tissue if I chance upon them at hawker stalls. Even if I do not require the seats, I will do likewise.

So yes, all guilty readers are forewarned — if your “choped” seats end up without the offending packets of tissue, chances are I was the one who discarded them.

And please do not blame the people sitting there; they would not have known that those seats were ever “reserved”.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

My blog had went for a holiday on the 1st jan and just came back recently..

Well, been busy since the start of the new year 2009...trying to cope with work, studies, play, studies, play and work at the same time...so ya, that's why my blog decided to go for a holiday. Just had my 1st mid term test, only mcq and I did quite badly man...cos last min then study..haiz. Now, there's another test coming up next week...sianz. But overall I had lots of fun in uni, the feeling of getting back to sch is gd, life is more interesting...life is even more ineresting when suddenly I heard some scandal abt me recently...THANKS to our gd fren speculating here and there...haiz, which I dun want to mention who la...u know yourself...haha.

Today is valentine's day...yet I'm here blogging...why, becos i'm attached but available... The girl I like dun like me...the girl I dun like likes me...that's why like that...sad la. See dream girl, dare not approach, the usually loud n daring me, when comes to this...I just sucks...haha.

Anyway, during my blog holiday, I had a long list of activities going on...but I'm going to summarize all into 1 sentence, details n pictures can refer to facebook, becos pictures are always not with me...now facebook is just like a picture blog, by looking at the pictures, you will noe what the person had been doing liao... :) So, in chronological order, I went for the volvo race where the only thing I rem is JOEL HO won $1000 out of nothing, no lucky draw, no competition, no nothing, the money just fell from the sky...>.< " and has yet to give us a treat.. haha. Then...with uni frens, here and there we celebrated some b'days...made a mess out of Breko's (i tink it's breko..), went Dbl O to relish some clubbing memories...trying to get drunk..

For Lunar New Year, we went eugene's hse, then wanching's hse, then lorry's hse, then finally Sheryl's hse...play ban ban luck, lose money all the way...so happy man. At lorry's hse, we play some Wii games...play until the next day my arms, shoulder and back muscles ache...didn't noe Wii can be so tiring, maybe becos I never exercise now...haha. But nvm, trying to squeeze out some time to join canoeing, and become fitter.

That's all for today...dunno when my blog will come back from holiday...very stressed man..

MERRY X'MAS!!

I think this yr is the only yr I had really celebrated christmas, other times are quite dull. It started off with a sailing x'mas party at Charlene's house. We played a drawing game which I forgot what it's called, where you need to choose from a category of items to draw, and your team members will have to guess what you are trying to draw...ok, i shall not elaborate, check facebook for pics...haha.

Then we had gift exchange, I've got no time to shop for present, so I just bought a spongebob worth $20 to exchange. It landed in Lorraine's hands, well...not sure if she like it or not but nvm...haha. And....I've gotten something from Charlene, and guess what, it's a WATSON lavender shower cream, wrapped with a watson plastic bag. I guess sailing friends are really full of surprise hur...but nvm, the gift had been returned to its co- owner, will come to that later.

Next up, is my office mini x'mas party on x'mas eve, my dept actually organise alot of parties but just that I didn't attend cause I don't really know alot of people there. This mini party was just a potluck session where everyone gathers and eat and chat. And also, I felt so awkward that day la...haiyo, almost everyone brought gifts for everyone, then I was empty handed, not used to giving out gifts, don't have that kind of cash too la.. So, I was quite paiseh that day.

Btw, we took some grp pics but they are with different cameras, I only got hold of 2...hmm...I guess some of you might want to see who's jimmy right? Here he is...

You all can try to guess which 1 is it...dunno then come n pm me. ;)

This pic consists of jimmy and my boss...

Next up is another x'mas party with the scouts at WQ's hse. I find that it's a gd excuse for everyone to find time out of their busy lives to gather and eat, play games, drink some wine and laughing non-stop, even chan fai turned up, so I think it's really a gd thing to happen, thanks to Cipto who initiated the whole thing.

Alright, after we ate, the guys went up to play the drinking game, those nyonya addicts joined us shortly after. Skipping all the details, just refer to eugene's facebook for pictures to know what happened ok...lazy to elaborate...haha, I just want to bring your attention to the gift exchange part! The present I prepared is the same thing charlene gave me, right from the start I've been waiting to give the present to WQ, so i was actually waiting for the correct opportunity. We picked a number from a container to see which present we would take, so ironic, everyone start picking numbers of their own presents. It just so happened that I also pick my own present number, so I just said I want to exchange the number with wq, so he took my present...I acted calm 1st so he won't suspect, when he opened the present...whahahaa you all really must see his reaction man...tsk tsk. Anyway, it's all for the sake of fun, I hope he won't get angry. :)

I was abit disappointed when I heard this. "It seems that the guys are more enthu with this kind of things", I was like...hmm, if not what you expect us to do? Sit down and watch xiao nyonya for a party, or sit down chit chat only? We are also trying to liven up the party, with x'mas, comes with gift exchange which is normally the highlight, yet I can hear this comment when people are trying to do something here. I shall not elaborate further, and names will not be stated too.

Blogging in office...

Ok, there's this guy in my office, he's been the talking pt of everyone here, so I'm not the only 1 talking abt him. :) Centre parting, normal working attire, carrying a 'wealth...blah blah SGX investment fair 2004' bag, the bag is those freebie bag with certain strings....he can use it for so many yrs, i'm shocked. Walks like charlie chaplin..every now and then, he will scratch the back of his head(right side to be exact)... that's the 1st impression.

Incident 1: Person A told him, do u noe that there's an office communicator that works like msn that you can chat with anyone in MAS... he replied and say, "oh..no need so troublesome, anything can just use email la...faster...." -.-" fine... But the next moment, he was on it...chatting away. Person B told him the office comm works like msn, he said, "wah...wad's that? a game? u mean in MAS, there's game to play?" Contradicting facts right? I'm not too sure too..

Incident 2: We went for lunch, I wanted to withdraw money. I knew the location of the POSB ATM, however, he told me there's 1 in International Plaza, which I don't rem have...so I asked him to bring me there (i regretted). So 1st, he brought me to OCBC atm, I said no, I wanted posb....next, he brought me to UOB atm, ok..I fuck him for treating me like a fool. A few days later, I realised who's the real fool. He asked me why he couldn't withdraw money from the atm. He wanted to withdraw money from UOB, OCBC, citibank...his is a posb bank. Now I understand.....

Incident 3: One day, Person C came to tell me this. He was trying to file some documents...so opened up the ring file, he placed the hole puncher in between the file, then he placed the paper in between, adjusting....then punch, the whole process of punching hole is complete. :) Trying to be funny here? You guess yourself then...

On a friday, it's our dress down day, so I wore my canvas shoes. He was wearing the FOC from SAF, Brooks shoes. He came to ask me whether I have those brooks shoes...of cos I did right, I serve the army too. Then he asked why I didn't wear it, as it is FREE! Instead, I wore this "smaller and uglier" shoes....haiz...what the fuck man. I shot him back, then why don't he wear the army shirts to work? FREE WAD... Geez...what a loser.

As noted by another colleague, his whole process of going toilet is 10 min, it's a SOP. After he relieved himself, he will wash his hands, face, rinse his mouth...or wadever...etc. Then he will take tissue and wipe...after wiping, not satisfied, he will dry his hand...dry n dry...until 10 min is up..haha.

There are more stories of him....but too many to list down here la..

Alrite...back to work. :)

We had a pri sch gathering last sat at Holland V. It was awesome. To have 17 people turning up for this gathering is really impressive. Considering that we've never met for like...near to a decade? Well, except for a few. :)

It was really fun, seeing how some of them look like, and how much they've changed...haha. And that we can still be so chatty and still so close after so long. Hope to have more of these gatherings.

All these were made possible by 1 powerful source: Facebook.

I merely posted an old photo and tagging some of them in it. From there, those tagged ones would further tag those pri sch mates whom I dun have contact with. Slowly...most of the people were linked together. And that's how we find back our old frens. Impressive huh..

At Swensen's

At Kbox..
